What are the standard lengths of commonly used materials?
 

Square tubing, hollow structural sections and shafting — 24 ft lengths
Schedule pipe — 21 ft lengths
Angle and hot rolled flat bar — 20 ft lengths

Rebar — 6 Metres (approximately 20 ft)
Plate and Sheet — 4ft x 8ft or 4ft x 10ft.

What is your pricing on steel 1″ x 1″ x 1/8″ angle?
 

The price for each project varies based on the wholesale price, quantity required, and if it needs to be cut to size. Our sales staff will gladly provide you with a competitive quote.

What is the difference between pipe and tube?
 

– Pipe is used for pressure applications, and is sized on inside diameter.
– Tube is used for structural purposes, and is sized on outside diameter.

What is the difference between I-beam and wide flange?
 

I-Beam has tapered flanges for trolleys and industrial applications. Wide flange has straight flanges and is used for home construction purposes.

I need base plates welded to my posts. Is is possible to punch or drill holes in them?
 

No problem! In-house fabrication and welding are some of the services Boss Steel can provide. We always keep base plates of varying sizes in stock and can punch holes or slots in them.

I know Boss Steel is a provider of sheet metal, but where can I get them sheared to size and formed?
 

Boss Steel is your one-stop solution. We can shear up to ½” and bend up to ¼” on site

I am only looking for a small piece — do I have to buy a full length?
 

No. There is no minimum order at Boss Steel. We have a large selection of off-cuts and cash and carry is available.

Do you stock a piece of round bar that will fit into this tube?
 

We have a machine shop with a lathe, mill, and radial drill on site. If we don’t have the material in the size you need, we can machine it to any size you require.
